City of Bayswater says
WANT to know more about the impact of influenza in your life and what to do to prevent it?
From 7pm to 8.30pm, April 28, the City of Bayswater is holding a forum on the emergency management of epidemics and pandemics.
Dr Paul Effler from the Department of Healths Communicable Disease Control Directorate will be on hand to provide background information on influenza epidemics and pandemics, explaining what they are, how they are transmitted, relevant symptoms and the current situation nationally and internationally.
Other topics covered include:
The Department of Healths role as hazard management agency for epidemics.
Personal prevention and preparedness measures for all age groups.
What side effects, if any, there may be from the vaccine.City of Bayswater Senior Environmental Health Officer Binh Luong will also explain the councils vaccination program while Emergency Risk Management Project Officers Karen Villanueva and Sandra Sewell will detail the Citys business plan for pandemic influenza.
The forum will be held in the Embleton Room at the City of Bayswater Civic Centre, 61 Broun Avenue, Morley, with a light supper provided. To register your interest, contact Sandra Sewell on 9270 4120.

Rocky Bay is a WA not for profit organisation caring and supporting 1500 children and adults with disabilities in WA. On May the 2nd we will be holding a event called walk with me to raise community awareness for those living with disabilities and to raise funds to continue to support them.
Rocky Bay will be conducting their inaugural Walk with Me on May 2nd from 10am at the Mandurah Foreshore to raise funds and community awareness for adults and children living with disabilities.
