UPDATE: Soundwave in Sydney has a new venue. The organisers have moved the event from Eastern Creek Raceway to the RSA Showgrounds at Homebush.
Soundwave has made it's first announcement of acts for next year's show and all we can say is if you like your music heavy then you'll be wetting your pants because it's killer!
The line-up includes Iron Maiden, Slash, Slayer alongside grunge legends like Melvins, Rob Zombie, Queens Of The Stone Age, Gang Of Four, Primus and loads more.
Iron Maiden will be bringing their full stage production with them and that of course includes Eddie's latest incarnation. Plus, the heavy metal gods will be doing two arena shows beforehand to rev up the batteries: 23 February at the Hisense Arena in Melbourne and 24 February at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
“We promised our Australian fans in 2008 that it would not take too long to return and we are delighted to have not only kept our promise but also to be headlining Australia’s greatest Metal Festival, Soundwave!!" said singer Bruce Dickinson.
"To say that we are greatly looking forward to this is a major understatement, with so many great bands in the Soundwave line up this promises to be one hell of an event!!”
Indeed, a lot of music fans reckon the Soundwave line-up will give the Big Day Out one serious shake for being the hottest festival ticket in town.

I hardly hear any Female songs from you. I listen to your music every work day and noticed that only 1 or 2 female songs broadcast during the day.
Can you explain why or does it just your discrimination of female can't play rock better than male? Looking forward to hear from you as soon as possible

@sean - which bands with female lead singers do you want to hear? There aren't many commercial bands out at the moment with a female singer that fall into the rock genre and have released their music to Australia.

Monster lineup for Soundwave 2011 - pity they couldn't get this chick in the lineup also - would have kept a lot of the ladies happy to hear a true heavy rock chick!
If you can get your hands on Pearl's (Meat Loaf's daughter) Immaculate Little White Fox CD she will rock you - bloody rockin album. Not sure if she's released it in Australia though. Besides her own songs, she's done her version of 'Nut Bush City Limits' and this is the best I've ever heard this done - certainly rocks! Her band lineup includes her husband Anthrax legend Scott Ian and Jim Wilson former guitarist from the Rollins Band.
