Crowded House caught their Sydney fans by surprise yesterday, announcing a one-off show at the Enmore Theatre next Wednesday night, March 31.
The band are back in town to play their first shows anywhere since headlining the Homebake festival at the end of 2008.
They’re primarily back to make two festival appearances on opposite sides of the country, at the West Coast Blues N’ Roots Festival in Fremantle on 28 March, followed by the Byron Bay Blues Festival on April 4.
Crowded House this week also confirmed details of their new album. It will be called Intriguer and is set to be released in the middle of the year. The new record was recorded at Neil Finn’s own Roundhouse Studios in New Zealand.
The band is due to begin a month-long European tour on 18 May.
Tickets for next week’s Enmore Theatre show are on sale now through Ticketek.

Love the Crowdies. Didn't see them tour in Oz last night, but saw Neil & Tim a few years ago in Brissy - was brilliant! Looking forward to the next tour.

Intriguer is Crowded House's second album since the suicide of drummer and co-founder Paul Hester in 2005 (and their sixth overall), and follows 2007s well-received comeback LP Time On Earth.
