The Beach Boys are set to return to Australia at this year's Gold Coast V8 Supercar race.

Original Beach Boy Mike Love said the band was looking forward to the motor heads and coming down under.

"I've always loved Australia, the beer, great girls, fantastic beaches, what's not to like."

The 3-day music festival will be held once the day's racing is complete.

Other acts included in the 600 Sounds festival are The Angels, Noiseworks and James Reyne.
