It's perfectly apt that on this Valentines Day, we find a video of one of the sexiest movie stars of all time covering off one of the sexiest songs of all time. Yep, Liv Tyler meets Need You Tonight by INXS.
It's actually all a clever ploy to sell a forthcoming fragrance by Givenchy, called "Very Irrésistible Givenchy Electric Rose". Which, when you consider what's been done, is a pretty clever way to spread the good word about your ware.
This is so cool for so many reasons... Firstly, it's the daughter of rock royalty (Aerosmith's Steve Tyler) singing a bloody sexy song by a bloody sexy band. Have you ever wondered if any of Steve's vocal chops passed down to daughter dearest? Wonder no more. In actual fact, we know they've had millions (well, not quite) of new singers since the sad passing of Mr Michael Hutchence, but I wonder whether INXS considered someone like Liv Tyler out front? Would have been interesting, although we wouldn't have been graced with the awesomeness that is new lead singer Ciaran Gribbin.
And what would Hutch think? We're pretty sure he'd be pretty happy with the result. The song takes an industrial, gritty turn from the original, but the vocals (and lyrics) shine through... Rock on.
