In an interview with the Toronto Sun KOL singer Caleb Followill says their new album will NOT sound like "that piece of s**t" "Sex On Fire". (Geez Caleb, we actually thought that song was pretty damn good).
We guess the southern rockers have been in a bit of a foul mood lately after they copped flak from fans for cutting a recent gig short when they were pooed on by pigeons.
But let's focus on the positive. In exciting news, the band have wrapped up recording their new album and are pleased with the results. But KOL fans be warned. This album will sound different.
"There are a lot of elements that you may have never heard on Kings of Leon [albums]," said Caleb.
“There are definitely times when it’s very tropical and beachy, but there is always that dark chord in there that makes it Kings of Leon, " he continued.
"We have actually done things on this album that we’ve wanted to do for a long time. I truly feel with each album, we are getting closer to what it is that we want to do as a band.”
It's been two years since KOL's Grammy Award winning album Only By The Night, which had the breakthrough hits "Sex On Fire" and "Use Somebody".
Caleb also knocked that rumoured remix album on the head. “We put it on hold [because] we don’t want to have too many things out there where people are just like, ‘To hell with Kings of Leon, they are everywhere'.”
