Kings Of Leon's New Album Preview Post by: Dan The Internut 15 October, 2010 - 4:49 AM
The Kings Of Leon have released their new album and it could just could be their biggest and boldest statement ever.
Come Around Sundown was produced by the same team who delivered the Grammy Award-winning Only By The Night, so you know its going to sound huge. But as the Nashville rockers explain in the videos above they're not one to repeat themselves.
And as Mix 94.5's Byron Cooke discovered when he got his hands on the record last week their new album is packed full of surprises.

The End
Everything sounds BIGGER... drums/guitars/vox... I don't think it's a radio single, just a killer opening album track.
Radioactive
Would love to hear that opening guitar part in a massive stadium. I'm sure I will soon!
Pyro
The KOL trademark sound… with a splash of Mumford & Sons! Massive production. Another awesome "deeper cut".
Mary
A throwback to 50's/early 60's R&B/early rock n roll. It has that Drifters/Buddy Holly vibe 2 it.
Live Recording Process
After taken' a sharp [& somewhat random?] turn on "Mary", this is a BIG track - dark with a massive rhythm section.
Immortals
This reminds me of The Police... somethin about the delayed guitars & flashy drum parts. It's cool. Chorus is huge.
Back Down South
Call me crazy but this might just be the surprise smash hit on the album. Get on your boots.
Pony Up
OK so it's no Ginuwine "Pony", but damn this brings some serious groove. I could play this jam on repeat… often.
Birthday
Sounds really "indie" Like The Smiths or The Sugarcubes [you know, cool s**t like that] I like the bassline.
Mi Amigo
It's like KOL's version of the Pina Colada Song. I'll need time to get my head around this one. Quite… camp?
Pickup Truck
A reminder that Caleb is a f***in brilliant singer and it might be a song that alternative radio picks up.

Meanwhile, there's a very strong possibility that the Kings Of Leon will be in Australia next year. Music reporter Nui Te Koha said earl in the week that the band are currently negotiating times an dates. We'll report on any news as soon as it comes to hand.
