Coldplay Go Back In Time Post by: Dan The Internut 7 December, 2011 - 12:42 PM

I don't know about you guys, but I like to hear about bands turning back the clock and playing a small gig to some lucky punters.
Sometimes bands do it under an alias (as a surprise to the 100 or so people that rock up to a "The Longnecks" gig to find "The Living End" playing), and sometimes bands do it on purpose to give back to the fans. INXS famously did it in 1993 on their "Get Out Of The House" tour.
Well, arguably one of the biggest bands in the world, Coldplay, recently did it in the UK. The band played against a graffiti filled backdrop at Camden's Dingwalls, the venue only able to house 400 people.
"I have more cousins than this" suggested Chris Martin to the lucky punters, at the place they first played after their first self-financed EP was released way back in 1998.
Jo Whiley, a famous UK radio broadcaster, described the show as "intimate, slash dingy", and said it was "steeped in folklore".
Whatever way you look at it, there's 400 people who would probably be feeling pretty lucky right about now.
Have you ever seen a massive band in a small venue? Please share.
