Big Bon Scott Movie On The Way Post by: Dan The Internut 28 July, 2011 - 7:23 AM

'Bon Scott,' a movie celebrating the life of the legendary AC/DC frontman, is in the works and will be funded by Screen Australia, according to new reports.
The rock biopic will be directed by Aussie Eddie Martin and produced by Lizzette Atkins, who have recently worked together on "Lionel," a movie exploring the colourful life of boxer Lionel Rose.
At this early stage, there's been no word on who will be cast as the firebrand of a rock singer, who shone brightly before burning out from alcohol poisoning in 1980.
A beloved and highly influential musician, Bon Scott's memory still looms large for many rock fans. The actor who plays a bloke who influenced countless bands and won over a world of fans will have a lot of pressure on him to deliver a portrait of the singer that does him justice.
INXS icon Michael Hutchence will also be the star of another biopic, also receiving federal funding. We've been asking you to vote on who you think should play Hutch. At the time of writing, Guy Pearce is winning.
Good to see our tax dollars put towards something that will honour a few of Australian music's greatest figures (Scottish-born Scott is an adopted Aussie after all).
Who should play Bon Scott?
